Bright ruby, pale rim. Mushrooms, earthy, leafy with more air and a touch of strawberries far behind. Fresher and fresher with air, but was never shining. Good acidity, just a few tannins left and those are astringent, elegant otherwise if on the lean side, not too long. Prunes. 86

2001 Clarendon Hills, Astralis;
Deep ruby, red rim. Intense, sweet fruits, some white pepper, blackberries and dark plums, sweet anis, sweet tobacco and lots of overripe dark fruits. Good acidity actually, quite high when you think of it, maybe fresh even, very ripe tannins, and sweet mouthfeel, think elegant recioto with syrah spices. A very good wine, but to heavy and alcoholic for my taste, alcohol shows in the finish. 90ish

Fresh acidity, bitter touch, apricots, elegant and slightly rustic at the same time, not that normal seductive Suduiraut style, there is something I do not understand withe these wines in this vintage.... 88
